West Texas Intermediate crude is approaching the highest level

Approached traded West Texas Intermediate crude from its highest level in more than four months on renewed speculation that the unrest in Syria will spread to other parts of the Middle East and cause disruption in supplies.
Futures remained WTI little changed in New York after rising the most in five days on June 14, to check a second weekly gain, after U.S. President Barack Obama to authorize arming rebel groups in Syria.
The West Texas Intermediate crude for July delivery $ 97.76 a barrel, down 9 cents, in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange at 2:21 pm Singapore time.
